A new Portal being developed by the cities of Seattle, Tacoma Bellevue, Everett and Bellingham will make it easier for you to get a license and pay local Business & Occupation (B&O) taxes to those cities (click here to see the press release).
The “Multi-City Business License and Tax Portal” will largely eliminate the hassle of registering your business, as well as calculating and paying local B&O taxes across all of the participating cities. A signature feature of the Portal will be the ease of only having to enter basic information about your business once, not separately for each city.
The Portal will immediately benefit tens- of -thousands of businesses in Western Washington. The five participating cities collect 90 percent of all local B&O taxes in Washington State. Once the Portal is operational, it is likely to attract other cities and be available to even more businesses.
